AL KOOR TOURISM, UNFORGETTABLE OMAN
Founded in 2005, Al Koor Tourism was born from Piero Rossi’s passion for the deserts of Africa and the Middle East, where he lived for over 30 years. This experience allowed him to open up the most remote and fascinating places in Oman to international tourism, creating a perfect blend of nature, culture, and history.
The Al Koor Tourism team specializes in offering authentic experiences without sacrificing comfort: their journeys, undertaken in fully equipped 4×4 vehicles designed for camping in remote areas, perfectly combine convenience and the spirit of adventure.
For those who want to discover the Sultanate without giving up luxury, Al Koor Tourism also offers personalized solutions for days full of discovery and evenings immersed in ultimate relaxation.
More adventurous travelers can choose the “Assisted Self Drive” program: equipped for camping and expeditions throughout the Sultanate, they can enjoy the safety and pleasure of independently exploring this wonderful country.
Whether it’s discovering the vastness of the desert, crossing mountains, exploring remote and uninhabited areas, or experiencing the captivating Omani culture, Al Koor Tourism will provide unique and unforgettable experiences that reveal the true essence of Oman.

Team spirit, adventure spirit
The motto of Al Koor Tourism is “the spirit of adventure”, but this does not mean improvising!.
“The love for the desert is always in the first place and is the emotion that more than any other we want to communicate to our guests.”
Piero RossiFounder of Al Koor Tourism

Born in Italy and a professional traveler, Piero Rossi is the heart and soul of Al Koor Tourism.
With 30 years of experience in the tourism industry and deep knowledge of the major African deserts—including those in Morocco, Mauritania, Sudan, Libya, Niger, and Algeria—Piero combines excellent organization, enthusiasm, and a spirit of adventure.
This skillset has enabled him to lead expeditions in the wildest places across Africa and Arabia.
After working for several years in Africa, in 2006 Piero chose to settle in the Sultanate of Oman, renowned for its unspoiled beauty and rich traditions and culture.
Here, Piero has made crossing the red sands of the Rub’ al Khali desert a unique and thrilling experience for thousands of travelers.

He arrives on his 4×4, without the slightest doubt.
With him you will fill safe and secure. His smile and his proud look give him the title of prince.
Then it turns out that he is a beekeeper and knows all kinds of honey.
He knows the desert knows beyond the borders of Oman.
Were it for him, the GPS would be banned: he would orient himself with the sun, the moon, the stars and the wind.

Thinking about football, which he practiced on a professional level, he would be a fantasist.
Cook, driver, guide, storyteller: the art of the number 10.
He dribbles in the dunes with his 4×4 instead of the ball.
He stops, goes down, peers, unloads, cooks… football applied to the desert.
He, the number 10 you will never forget.

When he passes through the dunes, you can hear the melodies of his songs and the oud (a typical string instrument of Oman) that he plays masterfully.
With his off-road vehicle, he seems like a conductor who transforms the notes of his homeland’s musical score into a concert of passion that he shares with everyone.
From afar, you can hear him singing. The desert’s troubadour.

In the fruit and vegetable market of Muscat, you might hear a vaguely Italian name being called, “Cracco!”
But it’s not the famous chef who looks up; it’s Birjan, who comes towards you and greets you in Italian.
He is from Bangladesh, but after tasting his fettuccine with ragù, you might think there’s a chef from Romagna in the kitchen.
In the desert, among the mobile tented camps, he is the undisputed king of the kitchen: fresh and tasty salads, grilled fillets, perfectly al dente pasta topped with fresh crab sauce.

After graduating from a hospitality and tourism school with a focus on tourism operations, Graziella graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, completing a thesis that explored the intersection between art history and German theatre.
Since 1994, she has been leading groups of travelers, becoming a true bridge between cultures, people, and places. Her extensive experience also includes training tour guides from all over the world, further enriching the global tourism landscape.
She has specialized in captivating destinations such as Oman and Qatar, where her deep knowledge of local traditions and unique landscapes ensures unforgettable travel experiences.

Her career saw her excel for several years in the management of one of the main marinas on Elba Island, a role she carried out with dedication and distinction. Building on this experience, Marianna then set off on a new and inspiring course, drawn to a destination that deeply captivated her: Oman.
In this new and fascinating setting, Marianna brings her outstanding organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Her primary goal is to ensure that every guest enjoys authentic and unforgettable experiences, carefully managing every aspect of the journey to turn it into a cherished memory.

As a young man, Roberto began traveling throughout Italy and Europe using low-cost means of transport—and his beloved Vespa. Over time, he became aware that the world, so diverse, alluring, and full of wonder, was meant to be explored. His passion for travel gradually evolved into a profession, leading him to discover new countries through their natural, historical, and cultural dimensions, broadening both his knowledge and his worldview.
He has lived in Morocco, Peru, Sudan, and, for the past several years, in Oman. He has organized and led trips and expeditions in Mauritania, Mexico, Bolivia, northern Chile, and Argentina. Driven by curiosity and a desire for new experiences, he has collaborated with publishers, tour operators, and documentary filmmakers with the aim of sharing the knowledge he has gained.
Now a permanent resident in Oman, he knows every corner and every secret of the country.

The spirit of adventure
Our journeys are carefully planned and organized with meticulous attention to every detail to offer an exclusive and unforgettable experience, allowing you to experience the desert authentically without sacrificing comfort.

The 4×4 vehicles used for our journeys are equipped to handle the desert and provide every comfort (such as refrigerators for drinks).
All our services reflect high care and quality: our tented camps are true oases of relaxation in the heart of the desert. Here, you can rest in spacious, well-equipped tents, wash in comfortable field showers, and enjoy traditional Omani dishes prepared by our staff with fresh ingredients. The quality is equivalent to that of a restaurant, even though we are hundreds of kilometers from the nearest city.
Our love for the desert always comes first, and it is the emotion we most want to share with our guests.
Out of respect for the places we visit, we never set up camps in the same spot twice, to prevent recurring visits from damaging the surrounding nature. In this way, the desert quickly erases the traces left by humans.
Crossing the desert also means helping each other, sharing, and creating an atmosphere where everyone can feel among friends: this is the group spirit that animates all Al Koor journeys.
Our work is not just about guiding people to discover Oman, but about conveying to them the deep beauty of this country with its fascinating history and customs.
The wonder we see in the eyes of our guests is the same we feel on every journey!
